Our belief is "If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin!"  The commercial soap we buy today is not soap at all.  They are synthetic detergents that contain harsh chemicals and fillers rather than natural fats and oils. They are  produced quickly in one process by using very high temperatures, causing instant saponification.  The natural ingredient, glycerin is also extracted and sold to the cosmetic industry for use in producing high-end cosmetics. What you are left with is an inexpensive by-product that is not skin friendly as it can  strip the natural oils and emollients from your body. To compensate for the glycerin extraction, soap producers add chemicals and synthetic ingredients to their products. Our skin is our bodies largest organ and absorbs like a sponge.  We should be very careful what we put on it. Real soap nourishes your skin and keeps it healthy.
